The United States Needs a Balanced Budget Amendment

As I understand it there is an organization trying to get a balanced budget amendment passed. I also understand that they have been working on this for years. A majority of citizen in the states have to vote for this amendment in order for it to be passed. Very few office holders support this move because most of them want to serve long enough to become multi-millionaires. Their salaries would not get them to point of being multi-millionaires, but by influence peddling they can find ways to have wealth flowing to them. Joe Biden is the poster boy for becoming a multi-millionaire in public service and he will never be charged with any crime. Other politicians like the idea of being on the take without risk.

Donald Trump has been trying to cut spending but look what is happening. Every attempt he makes is fought by those who are getting money from the government from politicians, government grant receivers, charities, government contractors, local governments, universities, Government Workers and any organization or person who has his hand in the government till. Most of the above listed are shopping around for a radical court judge who will make rulings based on his ideology. People who are depending on deficit spending to enrich themselves are causing government gridlock. Even with all that Donald Trump is trying to do government spending will outpace receipts for years to come.

People who love the United States are concerned by the huge unstainable national debt that is still growing. Those who ride the government gravy train care little about what effect it has on others as long as money keeps flowing their way. I appreciate what Donald Trump is trying to do, but as long is spending outpaces receipts it is not enough. We have a government work force we cannot afford. We have more government programs than we can afford. It is time to make real cuts until we balance government spending with tax money coming in. It would be ideal if our citizens could vote on the government budget instead of Congress.

We need a ramp up of prosecution of people who are destroying property and threatening violence trying to intimidate people they do not agree with. The way to stop the anarchy is to put them in jail. The Democrats approach is to not charge these people, and they continue their bad behavior.
