Even Donald Trump’s most ardent admirers would likely admit that Donald Trump has an outsized ego. He likely thinks he can make a good deal with anyone. That is why he keeps trying to make a deal with the Devil, or actually his followers. These followers are the political leaders in Iran, Russia and China. The leaders in Iran are UnGodly Men who have no love for their fellow men or even for their own citizens. Putin, in Russia, dreams of being considered great in the eyes of many in the world by attacking smaller weaker nations and conquering them. Xi wants to take control of the entire world “by any means possible”, if I may use a term popular with the Radical Democrats. They use negotiations as a stalling tool, an opportunity to make promises they do not plan to keep and give concessions they will not keep and get concessions that will give them great advantages. Negotiation with any of them is another word for surrender.
Donald Trump finally lost patience with Iran and bombed their nuclear facilities. When will he lose patience with Putin. Putin seems to be using negotiation with Ukraine as a stalling tool to keep other nations from giving Ukraine more weapons while he continues to attack. There are some claims he plans to attack other nations if he can keep his occupied Ukranian Territories and not have the Ukrainians attacking. With a cease fire he can restock and finish off Ukraine later. Ukraine has been very effective with their drones on Russian military and supply centers diminishing Russia’s ability to make war. At the pace Russia is conquering Ukraine it is estimated it will take Russia 118 years to complete the job.
In spite of Trump telling the Ukraine Leader he holds no cards, Ukraine seems to be holding a lot currently. A negotiated agreement with Russia will not end war. It might end if temporarily in Ukraine, but Putin will invade another nearby neighbor, and war will still go on. Putin needs to be stopped now This seems to be an ideal time to put maximum pressure on Russia. Massive sanctions applied by the United States and European Countries, and if I might use Donald Trump words, “like you have never seen before”. Make it so they have no funds to support war. And with these sanctions give Ukraine enough weapons to annihilate the Russian Military occupying Ukraine. This is just because Russia invaded Ukraine. In spite of Trump’s saying a Russian victory is inevitable, with heavy sanctions and weapons that will make a difference, Russia may have to retreat. They other hope is the Russian people may tire of all the pain Putin is heaping on them and make plans to rid themselves of Putin.
